Musician and vlogger, Archipalago has attributed Sarkodie’s ‘historic’ success in being the only Ghanaian artist to hit 70 million YouTube views on his popular hitsong, Adonai, to the sudden disappearance of fellow musician, Castro.

Theophilus Tagoe, known in showbiz circles as Castro went missing on 6th July, 2014 at Ada and has since been presumed dead.

He disappeared months after the release of the popular hitsong he collaborated on with rapper, Sarkodie.

Castro made the headlines for several weeks running when he disappeared with a female colleague, Janet Bandu at Aqua Safari in Ada.

They were on a trip with popular footballer, Asamoah Gyan and some other friends.

But despite his sudden disappearance, many hold on to the possibility of the artist re-surfacing 7 years on. Some of these people resort to his songs and music videos, one of them being “Adonai”, the last song he collaborated on before going missing.

This, according to fellow musician Archipalago, is one of the reasons why the video of the popular song has recorded 70 million views on YouTube.

“The sudden death of Castro played a major part in the #Adonai song views on YouTube. No disrespect to Bidi”

“Don’t get me wrong!!! If I’m not mistaken! That video was the last Castro did before his untimely death and it came during that mysterious death. People who don’t know him viewed the video just to recognise him and that played a major role in the YouTube views till now,” he wrote in separate tweets.

6th July 2021 will mark exactly seven years since the Hiplife musician and friend Janet Bandu went missing during a Jet Ski vacation with then Black Stars Skipper, Asamoah Gyan.

The two, per the laws of the land, will officially be declared dead next year if they are not found before then.
