The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has cancelled the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2020 after a successful Executive Committee online meeting was held today.

According to the Confederation of African Football, the competition which was to be held between 6 April – 9 June 2020 has been called off due to challenging conditions following the Coronavirus outbreak.

Meanwhile, CAF has taken a new initiative to launch Women’s Champions League on the African continent to take effect from 2021.

The biennial tournament was previously won by West African side Nigeria in 2018.
