Nigerian artistes Burna Boy and Wizkid have been nominated for next year’s Grammy Awards, slated for January 31, 2021.

Burna Boy was nominated in the Best Global Music Album category with his album ‘Twice as Tall’.

The Best Global Music Album category is for albums that got at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental global music recordings.

This is the second time Burna Boy has been nominated for the Grammys.

Meanwhile, Nigeria Star Boy, Wizkid was also nominated in the Beat Music Video category for his collaboration with pop diva Beyonce in their “Brown Skin Girl” song, off Beyonce’s Lion King album.

The biggest plus for the Africa representation at next year’s Grammys is probably South African comic and Daily Show host, Trevor Noah, who has been named as host of the 63rd Grammy Awards.

Meanwhile, the self-acclaimed biggest Nigeria musician, Davido, failed to make the cut and fans of his two rivals, Wizkid and Burna Boy, have taken to social media to troll him.

There are 83 awards at stake for the night. Find the nominees list here.
