IMANI Africa President, Franklin Cudjoe says it is a real pain watching a Deputy Commissioner of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Bossman Asare justify the need for a voters register.

Franklin Cudjoe who has been one of the main critics of the EC’s controversial decision to compile a new electoral roll said the explanation by Dr. Asare is devoid of common sense.

On Thursday, May 28, 2020, the Deputy EC Chair appeared on GHOne’s State of Affairs to provide further explanations as to why there is a need for the voters’ register. Dr. Bossman among others said the Commission is only fighting to maintain the democracy in the country by delivering a credible, free and fair election.

But Franklin Cudjoe, who will not have any of it took to his Twitter post to suggest that the Deputy Commissioner lacks common sense in his delivery.

He accused Dr. Asare of seeking to embellish the truth with misleading information on the exact reasons, the EC is proceeding with the compilation in the last week of June.

“Watching EC deputy chair Bossman Asare on GHOne’s ‘State of Affairs’ murdering common sense. It is real pain. Smoke and mirrors…Edefu,” he wrote.

In a separate tweet, Franklin Cudjoe said the EC commissioners appear to have been possessed by some ‘higher spirits’ in a way that is beyond exorcism.

“The more one listens to the EC commissioners on this horribly managed electoral process, it becomes obvious immediately, that they have been possessed by some higher spirits and beings. They are beyond exorcism,” he said.
