Newly-appointed head coach of the Black Stars, Charles Akonnor will be paid 25,000 U.S dollars as monthly salary, ABC Sports can report.

This was revealed by Kofi Asare Brako, who is the spokesperson and personal assistant to the Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah.

Mr. Asare Brako in an interview on an  Accra-based television revealed that  C.K. Akonnor has signed a two years contract as the head coach.

This means C.K. Akunnor will take less than what Akwasi Appiah was receiving. The government paid Appiah 35,000 U.S dollars a month.

In addition to the 25,000 U.S dollars monthly salary, Akonnor has been given a car and a house. The car and house were the same used by Akwasi Appiah.

Akonnor was an assistant coach to Akwasi Appiah until he took over as the head coach of the senior football national team.
