Beyonce’s ‘Brown Skin Girl’ song, which features Nigerian singer and songwriter Wizkid has won the award for Best Music Video in the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.

The song also featured  Saint John and Blue Ivy. The award will also go to Jenn Nkiru who directed the video.

The music video for “Brown Skin Girl” was featured in Beyoncé’s 2020 film Black Is King and was released separately on August 24, 2020. That album also featured Ghana’s Shatta Wale on a song titled “Already”.

Directed by Beyoncé and Jenn Nkiru, the video acts as a celebration and affirmation of the beauty of dark-skinned women.

Meanwhile, Nigerian Afropop star, Burner Boy also won the Best Global Music award at the Grammys with his song “Twice as Tall”.
