A former Deputy Local Government Minister in former President John Mahama’s government, Baba Jamal has described Professor Jane Naana Opoku0Agyeman as a woman of excellence whose choice as running mate promises to improve the fortunes of NDC in the December polls.

He said the formale professor bring  intellect, humanism and integrity to the NDC presidential ticket and that is enough to get the party victory in the December polls.

He believes the professor towers above the current Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is an economist and she stands a better chance of pulling more votes than the Veep.

“Bawumia is not in the class of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman – she is not just a woman – she is a woman of excellence,” he boasted.

Prof. Opoku-Agyeman’s choice as running mate to John Mahama was announced after a National Executive Committee meeting of the party today, after she was “unanimously” accepted by the party leadership.

The announcement brings closure to months of speculation and several fake news stories on the former president’s choice for a running mate for his comeback bid.

The former Education Minister in the former president’s government is gone down as the first female running mate of an NDC flagbearer.

She was chosen of an all male group of contenders comprising of some party bigwigs and very qualified individuals.
