A man believed to be in his early 40s has been robbed and killed by armed men at Kasoa – Opiekuma junction in the Central Region. 

Eyewitnesses told ABC News reporter Stephen Nyamekye the man had a brown envelope, believed to contain some substantial amount of money and had just arrived at a nearby bus stop when two men at the bus stop engaged in a brief conversations.

While he was conversing with the two men, the armed men came in on a motorbike, shot him in the abdomen and snatched the envelope and left through the Liberia Camp – Breku road.

The eyewitness said because the robbers were armed, residents were scared to chase them.

They suspect the robbers had inside information from the bank from where the man cashed the money.

The man was rushed to the Kasoa Polyclinic but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Kasoa District Police command is yet to comment on the unfortunate incident while investigations are still ongoing.

The body of the unidentified man has been deposited at the Winneba Trauma Hospital morgue pending autopsy and identification.

She said, looking at the incident an alarm was blown from the bank in which this money took the money from.
