Dear Mr President,
Darkness hangs on Ghana Health Service following the appointment of a man who is a known NDC member.
People are seething with rage over the appointment of Dr. Baffour Awuah as a replacement to Dr. Nsiah Asare who has since been reassigned.
The anger of these people is based on their experiences with this appointed Director-General when the New Patriotic Party lost power in 2008.
Mr. President, Baffour Awuah hounded workers at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital who were perceived to be members of the New Patriotic Party.
He had most interdicted for reasons best known to him. He had some transferred from the hospital. Some were frustrated by him so much so that they had to voluntarily resign from KATH.
I must also add that some people died out of the harassment meted out to them by Baffour Awuah.
We may not be in the known as to why Dr. Nsiah-Asare has been reassigned, but for him to be replaced by a tyrant like Dr. Baffour Awuah, an unrepentant member of the opposition National Democratic Congress is something we find unacceptable.
Mr. President, I appeal to your good conscience to reverse this appointment lest it costs you and the party in the next elections.
Mr. President, Ghana Health Service is gloomy today. Workers are aghast over your appointment. You have appointed your enemy into this sensitive position.
I would end here with the hope that you would reconsider this decision. We have hundreds of party members in the field who can best fill this vacuum created by the reassignment of Dr. Nsiah-Asare.
Dr. Baffour Awuah is a dye in the wool member of the opposition NDC, the party that seeks to throw you out of office. I am done.
