The Minority in Parliament has called on the Akufo-Addo led government to abrogate the Mota-Engil deal for the construction of the Accra-Tema motorway and Extension project.
According to Ranking Member of the Roads and Transport Committee, Governs Kwame Agbodza, the 27.7km contract awarded to the Portuguese company is in bad taste and an affront to the country’s local contractors.

The company was awarded the $570 million deal for the expansion of the Accra-Tema Motorway into both three and two-lane stretches.
Addressing the media in Parliament, the Adaklu MP questioned why the scope of work in terms of reconstructing the motorway has been awarded to a foreign company instead of local contractors for the benefit of the country.
