Three men aged between 25 and 35 years have met their untimely death in a gory accident at Dunkwa Ayamfuti, a mining community in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region.

Assemblyman for the area, Kwabena Enin Castro has been telling journalists the incident occurred early Tuesday, June 8, 2021, around 10:15 am between the Dunkwa Ayamfuri Cemetery and a Fuel Station Opposite the Cemetery.

Explaining the cause of the accident he said, “a mining truck belonging to Awaso Bauxite, coming from Takoradi, run over a private vehicle with three miners onboard and killed them all on the spot.

The names of the deceased were given as Akwasi Bacha, the driver; King Medals and Frank. They were on their way to work when the unfortunate incident happened.

The accident is believed to have caused by the recklessness of the truck driver but that is yet to be confirmed by the police.

The mortal remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Dunkwa On-Offin Mortuary for autopsy and preservation, while the police have arrested the driver of the mining truck to assist with investigations.
