Milovan Rajevac has turned his attention to qualifying Black Stars to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after exiting the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The four-time African champions suffered a humiliating group-stage elimination following their 3-2 defeat to AFCON debutants Comoros.
The result will go down as one of the biggest shocks in Nations Cup history as Comoros scored at the finals for the first time and then went on to record their maiden victory.
“I came to Ghana to qualify the team for the World Cup. That is my primary target,” coach Rajevac said as reported by cafonline.com
“I will stay and lead the team in the March play-offs.”
Incredibly, Comors ranked 132nd in the world now have a chance to reach the knockout stages as one of four best-ranked third-placed sides.
The result leaves Ghana bottom of the Group C table with 1 point after three Group matches.
